quality reversing cam, the poll

Ok, guys.

As a follow-up to my previous thread about the subject, i want to know how many people definately want one of these cams.

So, if interested, please vote in the poll, and post here to make yourself visible. No i-might-be-interested in this thread please, just the i-want-one's, please. Indicate in the poll for how much you would want one and indicate the highest price. This will not influence the final price, larger order will lower the unit price.

These will be sourced directly at Misumi, Taiwan.
Warranty is a difficult matter. If in trouble, you'll have to contact Misumi yourself (allthough i'll help with contacting them), shipping costs might be larger than the value in this case. If price permits, i might order an extra one and keep it aside in case someone has trouble.

Specifications:
This list is a result of merging contradicting data from Misumi website, email responses and common sense with some technical knowledge, i'm fairly confident it's accurate. The contact with Misumi is friendly, but hard when it comes to gathering technical data. Also, their culture does not make it easy for them to say "i don't know" or "i'm not sure", instead they keep beating around the bush and give repeating answers. I gave up on trying to understand the difference between 4 different camera's with the same specs, instead just picked the smallest one. Even then, 2 of them looked *exactly* the same on paper.
  • Model MS-DC54R-P
  • Water Proof (IP67)
  • Wide Angle Mirrored Image
  • Signal System: PAL
  • Pixels: 512(H)X582(V)
  • Image Sensor: 1/4" COLOR CCD
  • Lens: 1.9mm/F2.4
  • Lux Rating: 0.5 Lux
  • Viewing Angle: 150 Degrees (might be 130°)
  • Dimensions:19(Diameter) x 18(L)mm
  • Camera to main board box cable length: 22cm
  • Power: 12V DC, 40mA
  • Included cable with mating connector: 8m video / 4m power

And last, there's an install thread with actual camera image pictures at the bimmerboard forum. Mind that the moiré you see, is probably not visible in real life, it must be interaction of the screen and the camera that guy used.

PS. Mod's please let me know if this is permitted, after all, it's becoming sort of a group buy.

LOL, why do you Brit guys do everything the wrong way, driving, units, currency,...
Anyway, i don't seem to be able to change it.

PS, I've spent months in M'cr and never noticed the currency notation difference. I also don't understand the sensitivity of Brittish vs. English versus UK resident, so don't flame me for the Brit joke above, please.

Hmm, dream on, that's the CMOS category, no chance if you want CCD.

One week to go and i'll be contacting all interested and ordering.

If anyone is hesitating and would want one for £60,- then vote £65,-
Price might be around £60 each when enough items are ordered.

Shipping Belgium -> UK will be around £6

Oh, and if anyone wants a different camera from http://www.misumi.com.tw/ then say so and i can order it at the same time. It *must* be a camera, 'cause otherwise import taxes are different from what i know it will be for a camera.
The same type is possible with or without mirrored image. All CCD camera's are probably around the same pricerange, so assume £60 -ish + shipping cost from me to you

Last call.
Price is semi definitive: around £60 + £6 shipping from me to you.
If you join in now, i'll count you in and confirm the price before it's definitive.

Cheers, Marc

Yep, order is out and has been paid. Waiting for confirmation of payment now, should be any day soon.

After confirmation its 2 weeks production time then shipping time (another 2 weeks?), so i would expect the cams home in the week of April 7.
