Today i have been mostly building...

A new PC case

you may have seen the old case on these hallowed forums, it was big, ugly and a bugger to get into.

here's a reminder.

I've been meaning to build a new one for yonks and today i took the plunge.

I bought a load of steel from B&Q and with most of the plans in my head and a few measurements, started to hack and weld.

This is the completed frame.

With some shelves.

And finally a test fit.

And that is how it looks now, all naked, unfinished and noisey (no watercooling).
it's approx 2" narrower, 3" shorter and 3" shallower.
it will eventually have a solid top made from the same material as the shelves, mirror tinted perspex sides, the power buttons and extra USB ports will be on the left hand side with the drive stealthed and moved to the bottom mount, the UV neons and subtle lighting will be concealed under the top to light up the components and watercooling.
The passive radiator and pump are a little on the large side (hence the other case being bigger) so i will build a stand for them which will go under the desk.

I still need 8 pieces of 3m 25mm25mm4mm angle to make some supere car ramps, like the ones on forecourts to make the cheap cars look impressive

Thank's for the encouraging words guys

Here's a pic of the top and sides test fitted.

the top will have vent holes along the rear edge as there's nowhere for any warm air to escape at the moment, the sides need tinting and some sort of stealth fittings which will allow them to be removed for tinkering, either that or some chrome screws in the corners.

I'm not sure where to put the power and reset buttons along with a couple of USB ports, suggestions would be apreciated.

get a nice big red reset button and smack it right on top so you can vent your frustration!

Or put em on some kind of wedge that flips up out of the top..or why have buttons? have a remote control
