Are WM6 and WinCe the same thing?

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but the question is mixed,
Firstly,Is the software found in pda's the same as Win Ce as supported by some motherboards?

Ive noticed some boards say they support winCe and after flashing some of the latest interfaces to my hermes100 pda i've come to realise its actually a perfect carpc except for the lack of a large enough screen.

Now i know that something compiled for ARM is gonna be different to something compiled for x86 but is there any chance that a Wm6 app/script could be executed under winCe?

Those of you that have used the touchflow/manila browser for Wm6 know what i'm thinking.

I have to say I'm toying with the idea of a WM6 CarPC..... not sure how that can be done yet but I have some ideas.

WM6 does have its core from WinCE but it is diffrent.... speaking of which I read some thing last night that WM7 will be the last to share this core and WM8 is rumored to be planed so its built ground up.

Yeah a Wm6 carpc would be perfect,if an x86 WinCe pc could run the manila browser plugin from Wm6 i'd be a happy man.

Its a question of Carising some of the bigger WM6 units of which there are a few now.

Building a ROM is a doddle although a FE is needed really.

I've been looking at some of these units on Ebay ( EG ) which do every thing but also run CE / WM versions of sat nav. Its not very clear how they work ( and I have a manual of one here ) but it looks like a hybrid reall for just the sat nav to run in the right enviroment.

There is also a unit from YAuto I think which is fully CE BUT there is no modem.

WM6.5 is due out later in the year and will also include IE6 but tbh its not really an issue if cooking a rom.

This is probably the way I will be going my self as it can be installed easy, configured easy and not be classed as modding the car ( Grumble ).

Without invalidating the warranty ;)

You can get all those from the back of the car thoguh I'd imagine so should leave you with lots of room up front (not that you'll really need it.)
