Have just been looking on the http://www.i-go8.com/ site and although these skins are designed for the portable versions some of these skins have resolutions of VGA 800x480,800x600 etc,etc, has anybody had any success in porting these skins to our model of igo, there are some very nice skins in there.

"This skin is intended for devices with one of the following resolutions in landscape orientation only:
320x240, 400x240, 480x272, 640x480 (VGA), 800x480 (native high resolution)

This skin now has native 640x480 and 800x480 support. So, in order to use the high resolution, set your resolution directory to the 800_480 folder and have both VGA=0 and highres=0 in your sys.txt. In order to use VGA resolution (640x480), set your resolution directory to 320_240 with VGA=1 and highres=1."

Skins for the PDA version CANNOT be used with the PC version. It's in the FAQ, but there are incompatible commands that make our version crash on startup. I've tried to port over a few things here and there.

Yeah i read the faq etc, i was mainly thinking of the graphics elements, more than any of the nuts and bolts of the program seeing as they are the same resolutions, you would have to know where to look as well i suppose,oh well just a thought!

Millsy, sorry I misunderstood. Technically most things in other skins can be added, it's just a matter of gettting it done. I'm testing out the skin resizer app that is there, so that might solve the need to use the resizers soon. I'll keep you updated.

Right, intial tests worked. A few small sprites like the route progress sprite and new compass sprite I have been working on (the one from the Gurjon Skin) need to be adjusted, but all in all it looks very promissing. Looks like we will finally have that true VGA 800*480 skin. Once I get that done, I'll do up one that fits the window in my CF skin as well. Both will be posted when completed.

Thanks, your work is appreciated, visually there is some good stuff for the personal units i especially like the night skins with the headlights lighting up the roads! Am anxious to see what you have come up with in this latest round of programming.

Speedcam update.

This file contains Europe's speedcams (including DACH, so pay attention!).
There are about 23416 of them included.

Type 1 Fixed Speed Camera: 17269
Type 2 Red Speed Camera: 5506
Type 4 Section Speed Camera: 641

As the file is only a couple of minutes old, it should be fairly up-to-date.
Feedback is appreciated.

Alright... I can confirm that I now have a true 800*480 and 800*430 (fits in Centrafuse) resolutions of iGO8. I have a little tweaking to do on some of the graphics that didn't resize properly, but should have that sorted out shortly.

@ LeZandre thanks for the maps indeed Romania at least works, still is far behind Garmin RO.AD 2008 as details and stuff

Hard decision I like IGO 8 but the map is best on Garmin(I hate the app) damn!
