Another note to add though, I've found that the A/C being able to blow on the back of the screen is brilliant at sharpening the picture up in hot sunny weather... When the screen gets hot in the sun the colour washes out to a funny shade of green, a blast of cold air fixes it, and also in winter, the heater stops condensation on the screen

So what I've decided I'll do is just direct the air flow with a spoiler, and have it so that when the top vent is shut, it directs to the screen

Best of both worlds then :thumbs:

It was posted up a while ago and is quite old now (Oct 2005) but as I mentioned in my other thread, IMO this forum needs more informative posts to attract people from the Darkside, so I started the ball rolling by dragging my feature thread back from them

Whats the paint finish like on the bezel now? I'm interested I need sometihng that looks like VW plastic/vinyl dashes, though may go the route of recovering the whole thing

You'd probably be better off covering it with leather or vinyl to get a stock look.

Paint is difficult and the results aren't always good.


BTW, mine is still as it was in the pictures. I've not done anymore with the fabbing as software & PSU issues have been taxing me lately

I Just wanted to say hey to everyone. I was just surfing around and saw the fab job on the center console here. Excellent job!!!

I plan on doing something similar to mine, though i haven't done too much research on it yet - still in the brainstorming stage

ABS Plastic pellets From a local plastic injection moulders.



...Mix with Acetone to produce ABS Gunk, use this to melt plastic parts together and fill areas...
