Can i find out who owns a car by the reg?

    Hey guys,

I just got screwed by a guy on VVOC.com and I'm trying to locate him, His car reg is W147 DCT and its a vectra in blue.

Any way I can find out where he lives?

Its in the Driffield Area of Yorkshire, and he is known as Adam or Andy Flint...

Just £2.50 and coming up with a reasonable cause. If you look under what is a reasonable cause theres quite a few that could apply in any case.

ok, so the guy parked outside my house for 72 hours and blocked my gates, even though there is a sign up asking people not to park there...

would i need a photo, do you think this reason would work and do they write to the registered owner to tell them ive checking out his details?

How do you know hes on VVOC ? Surley that would have been a police matter at the time ?

I mean if it was me I'd have acidentally let down the tires my self and wait until he came back

Also - you may want to speak to the admin team on there.... they are a good and fair set of guys but I'm not sure what they can do here.

*cough* T - I mean that would be the reason I would need to get his details, the actual reason is - I bought a bumper off him, via vvoc and he screwed me, took the money and shut his account, I'm now getting some info on him, and I know what he does for employment, and the exact reg of his car, he lives up in york area...

so anyway, I just wondered if i can find out current owners details anywhere...

Defo speak to the admin team..... they have access to more than you think and they do say do that first.

Once thats done they can name and shame if needs be plus give the details to the police..... ( forgot where it says this but it does. )

PM Malc as a good start....

yeah, liam has been trying to help but he can only confirm the area and his real name...

They WONT name and shame, but they will issue a ban... and they wont get involved in police activity (its my fault, i trusted the guy, but according to the rules you have to get name, address and landline number before making a sale....) so liam said "sympathy is in short supply"

pop down your local copshop with any paper evidence (printed screen grabs) of conversations had and IP addresses if you can get those from the forum people.
That plus the number plate shouldnt need Columbo to find the guy and prove he ripped you off.
