Win 7 Optimisation for new install?

    As the title says,

I'm just about to upgrade with a new install and want to improve boot times etc. Specs are:

    Zotac D2550 Supreme Wifi
    4GB DDR3 RAM
    Crucial v4 32GB SATA 3GB 2.5 SSD
WD Scorpio Blue 2.5" 250GB SATA 3GB HDD
    Genuine Win 7 32 bit

Any advice on what I could do to optimise the install?

    Cheers,
    Dave

Main thing I do is change the prefetch settings.

Open regedit, navigate to the key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters

Change "EnablePrefetcher" to value 2. (It should be 3 as default)

Then browse to C:\Windows\Prefetch and delete all .pf files. Leave all other files in place.

Other than that do a Ccleaner scan on the registry and clean up anything found. Remove un-needed startup items.

    Should get it fairly nippy.
