    Alfa 156 (facelift) Dash...

Hi guys, just thought I'd post some pictures of the screen I've put in my dash ... the work isn't 100% complete but it's getting there ...

    the original centre console

    lining up the screen

I cut a hole for the screen in the original part, glued the screen surround in and then filled/smoothed with body filler

... out of the car ...

    ready to go in

    installed

oh ... and obvoiusly I've removed the thermostat (v important) and fuel gauge,so I've stripped down the gauges, removed the electronics and then fed the output to a usb A/D converter (K8055), I've written a plugin for centrafuse (will post on the centrafuse forums when 100% complete) to show the values ...

I was going to ask what you'd done with the petrol gauge! Good install, I like it

Thanks for the responses ... I used photoshop to design the gauges, then I've used a sledge hammer approach to animate them ... I saved the static background, then wrote a photoshop script to rotate the needle in increments, saving the results as a transparent png ...

once I've got it all configured and running properly (had some earthing problems with the amp that I've been concentrating on which are now sorted) I'll post the plugin with the source code on the flux media forums (same username as here)

If you're interested I've got a thread going on another forum which shows most of the other bits I've done for the install ... http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/ice-a...r-install.html

can't believe how old the stuff in this thread is now ... checkout the link I posted further up (although that sites down at the mo) it's got all the up to date stuff (I've upgraded the graphics significantly, got the steering wheel controls working, added a boost gauge (by piggy backing on the signal from the MAP sensor, upgraded to CF3, integrated the cruise control) ... although you've probably seen some updates on the CF forum

although here's a few updated pics
